Neuroscientist
Dr Michelle Roche

The brain is like a large jigsaw with lots of missing pieces. Neuroscientists work to find those pieces so that eventually we can understand how the brain works. As a Neuroscientist, Michelle works to try to understand what happens in the brain when we are in pain and how our mood change how we feel pain. Michelle will talk about what Neuroscientists do.

Meet the Scientist’ is part of the START initiative – a national competition challenging primary schools to create their very own randomised control trial. START is recognised by teachers as a ‘unique teaching tool’ allowing children to collaborate and enjoy a structured problem solving approach.
